The Morning Light

The morning light shines through the blinds.
But the mornings make me feel so blue.
For the dawning light disturbs my sleep,
Awaking me from my dreams of you.

The morning light drops a shadow on my soul
Because I see that you are gone.
Awaking to this light of gloom,
I unwillingly greet the morning alone.

The morning light casts veils of shadows
That swallow up my heart,
Hardening it to a day of grief,
For our souls will spend the day apart.

But the morning light soon fades to darkness,
And the night returns me to my dreams.
In my dreams we embrace each other,
Embracing the love we can't find in between.
