Making an Animated Link Button

This tutorial is the third in the Making an Animated Supporter Button series.  It will use a buttons created in the first two parts of the series.  Please return to the index of this tutorial.  Of course, you may always use 2 graphics of your own, as long as they are the same size.

You will need:

  • 2 button graphics, the same size (we will use the buttons we created in part 1 and 2.
  • JASC Animation Shop
This tutorial is intended for beginning users of Paint Shop Pro.  I am using Version 7, but you should be able to follow these steps with other versions of PSP.  The Tutorial is also part 2 of a 3-step tutorial on making an animated supporter's button, so please try the other tutorials.  Please write me if you have any questions.

1.  In Paint Shop Pro, Click File, Jasc Software Products, Animation shop
to open up The animation shop.
2.  In Animation Shop, click on the animation wizard icon:
3.  In the first screen, select same size as the first image frame, next.
4.  In this screen, select transparent, next.
5.  In this screen, select centered in frame, select with the canvas color,
    next.
6.  In this screen, select "yes, repeat", 20 frames to display, next
7.  In this screen, select add image, find and choose the first graphic file
(we will use textbut.jpg), open, add image (again), find and choose the
second graphic file (we will use graphbut.jpg), open, next
8.  Click File, Save as, name it  anivotebut , with file type= .gif   Then click next through all the following screens until finished.

And there you have it.  You have created an animated supporter banner for your site.  You may follow the same steps and create a large animated text banner with two large link banners.
