Miss You Tag
I wrote this tutorial on my own. Any similarity to another tutorial is purely coincidental. I claim the copyright to my tutorial. This tutorial is intended for a beginner to learn about using filters. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me. To do this tutorial you will also need Photoshop CS or CS2. You may download a free trial at Adobe. Remember to save as a .psd file often! You will need a face image or some other tube. Or you may download these supplies. 1. Open a new, transparent image, size = 400 x 325
2. Edit > Fill. Choose color and fill with a dark color of your choice.
3. Open up the tube that you wish to use. Image > Size. Change the height to 325 Pixels (the width will adjust in proportion)
4. Select > All Edit > Copy. Click back on your tag image and Edit > Paste. Move the tube image into place.
5. In the Layer Palette, slide the Opacity to 50% or lower.
6. Layer > New > Layer
7. Choose the Rectangle Selection Marquee, and draw a rectangle starting at the top near around 200. (If you need to turn on your rulers: View > Rulers)
8. Edit > Fill. With same color as before.
9. Edit > Transform > Rotate 90 degrees CW
10. Filters > Sketch > Halftone Pattern. Size = 5, Contrast = 10, Pattern Type = Line

11. Edit > Transform > Rotate 90 degrees CCW
12. Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation
13. Click the check in Colorize. Then watch the bottom bar (blue) change colors as you change the numbers for Hue, Saturation, and Lightness. Find a color that you like that matches your tag.
14. Selection > None 15. Layer > New > Layer
16. Draw a rectangular Selection Marquee, like shown below. Leave about 25 pixels on the right side.
17. Edit > Fill with a lighter/medium color of the same shade. 18. Filters > Sketch > Halftone Pattern. Size = 1, Contrast = 10, Pattern Type = Line
19. Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation. Use the same setting as before or close to it.
20. Layer > New > Layer. Selection > None
21. With the Rectangle Marquee Selection, draw a rectangle selection across the bottom of the tag (see top example for placement). Edit > Fill with same dark (first) color.
22. Selection > Modify > Contract Selection. Contract by 3 pixels.
23. Right-click on layer and choose Blend Options. Click on the WORDS Bevel and Emboss. Apply the settings below.
24. With the magic wand, click inside the "frame" to select. 25. Layer > New > Layer 26. Edit > Fill. Fill with the same light/medium color (2nd color)
27. Filter > Sketch > Halftone Pattern. 1, 10, Line 28. In the Layer Palette, slide the Opacity Layer to 50% or lower.
29. Choose the Text tool, set color = white, font = your choice, and size = 24 - 36 point. Type "I Miss You" or other message. 30. Right-click on text layer and choose Rasterize Type
31. Right-click on the Text tool and choose Vertical Type Tool
32. Type your Name in whatever font, size you choose. 33. Right-click on the Text layer and choose Rasterize Type. 35. Layer > new > Layer
36. Select > All
37. Edit > Stroke. Width = 5 px, Color = matching color. Location =Center. Click ok
38. Layers > Merge Visible. 39. Now save as a JPEG. File > Save As and
change the file format to JPEG.
