Bountiful Tag
I wrote this tutorial on my own. Any similarity to another tutorial is purely coincidental. I claim the copyright to my tutorial. This tutorial is intended for a beginner to learn about making a tag with filters. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me. To do this tutorial you will also need Photoshop CS or CS2. You may download a free trial at Adobe. Remember to save as a .psd file often! Download Supplies. Download the Toadies > Weaver filter. 1. Open one of the images in the supply folder, or use your own. 2. Image > Duplicate. Close the original. 3. Choose the Lasso Tool, and set Feather = 15 px
4. Layer > New > Layer from Background
5. With the lasso tool, select around your cornucopia, in a close, tight selection.
6. Select > Inverse
7. Press Delete key 8. Select > Deselect
9. Right-click on layer and choose Duplicate Layer.
10. Click on the eye on the duplicate (top) layer and HIDE that layer. Then click on the bottom layer.
11. Layer > New > Layer
12. Flood-fill the new layer with a complimentary color or white, and move this layer down to the bottom.
13. Click on the bottom cornucopia layer 14. Filter > Toadies > Weaver. Apply these settings: Cell Width = 38, Cell height = 45, Cell Edges on/off = 255.
15. In the layer palette, slide the opacity to 70%
16. Select > All Edit > Copy File > New (size will be already set). Edit > Paste on the new file.
17. Choose the Rectangular Marquee Tool. In the top tool bar, set the Style = Fixed Aspect Ratio.
18. Draw a square around part of the weaver image.
19. Right-click on the layer and choose Duplicate Layer.
20. Edit > Transform > Rotate. Set the rotation angle to 45 degrees.
21. Layers > Merge Visible 22. Edit > Define Pattern
23. Click back on cornucopia layer 24. Click on the top layer
25. Layer > New > Layer
26. Select > All
27. Edit > stroke Set Width = 15 px, color = white, center
28. With the magic wand, click on the stroke border
29. Edit > Fill. Choose Pattern, and find the pattern that you just created.
30. Right-click on the layer and choose Blending Options. Click on the WORDS Bevel and Emboss. Apply these settings: Inner Bevel, Smooth, depth = 121, Direction = Up, Size = 9, soften = 2
31. Then click on the WORDS Drop Shadow. Apply these settings: Normal, Opacity = 75%, angle = 30, distance = 5, spread = 0, size = 5
32. Layers > Merge Visible 33. Apply any text you want. 34. Save this as a JPEG: File > Save As
