Remember to save as a psp file often!
 

To make the Head

1.  Open up the wing  & body that you made from Part one.

2.  Set your foreground color to #EAC1AE, and background color to null.

3.  Choose the preset shape tool.  In the Tool Options box, set the tool to Ellipse shape, check antialias, check create as a vector, and line width = 2 (not 6)
line width = 2

4.  Draw a circle for the head.  Push in the nodes so that its size fits the body.

5.  When you are satisfied with the shape of your angel head, right-click anywhere on the picture and choose Quit Node Editing.

6.  In the Layer Palette, right-click on vector layer and choose Convert to Raster Layer.

7.  Right-click on that layer, and choose Rename.  Rename it Head.

To Make the Hair

8.  In the Layer Palette, hide all the layers, except for the head.  To hide a layer, click on the glasses to make a red X appear in the Layer Palette. (see pic below)

9.  Set your foreground color to black (#000000), and background color to Null.

10.  From the left tool menu, choose the draw tool (pencil).  Set the Tool Options box to Point to Point Line, width = 2, line style = solid line, Check Antialias, Check Create as a Vector.

11.  Carefully draw in your hair, left-clicking every little distance.  It's like Connect-the-dots!  *S*   You may draw your hair as you like.

12.  When you are satisfied with the shape of your hair, right-click anywhere on the picture and choose Quit Node Editing.

13.  In the Layer Palette, right-click on vector layer and choose Convert to Raster Layer.

14.  Right-click on that layer, and choose Rename.  Rename it Hair.

To Make the Halo

15.  Set your foreground color to a bright yellow, and background color to Null.

16.  From the left tool menu, choose the preset tool.  Set the Tool Options box to Ellipse, width = 6, line style = solid line, Check Antialias, Check Create as a Vector.

17.  Draw a flat ellipse (see picture)

18.  From the left tool menu, choose Node Edit tool, and in the tool options box, click Node Edit.

19.  Add a node where the top curve of the halo intersects the hair line (see the arrows).  To add, place cursor over the spot, hold CTRL key down, and left click.  Add a node to the right side, where the top halo curve meets the hair line.

20.  Activate the node in the middle between these two added nodes.  (see arrow).

21.  Right-click on the node, and choose Edit > Delete.  Now the halo stops at the hairline.

22.  When you are satisfied with the shape of your halo, right-click anywhere on the picture and choose Quit Node Editing.

23.  In the Layer Palette, right-click on vector layer and choose Convert to Raster Layer.

24.  Right-click on that layer, and choose Rename.  Rename it Halo.

To Make the mittens

25.  In the Layer Palette, UNhide all the layers.  To unhide a layer, click on the  red X in the Layer Palette. 

26.  Set your foreground color to#D88408, and background color to Null.

27.  From the left tool menu, choose the draw tool (pencil).  Set the Tool Options box to Point to Point Line, width = 2, line style = solid line, Check Antialias, Check Create as a Vector.

28.  When you are satisfied with the shape of your mittens, right-click anywhere on the picture and choose Quit Node Editing.

29.  In the Layer Palette, right-click on vector layer and choose Convert to Raster Layer.

30.  Right-click on that layer, and choose Rename.  Rename it Mittens.

To Make the Book

31.  Set your foreground color to a red color, and background color to Null.

32.  From the left tool menu, choose the draw tool (pencil).  Set the Tool Options box to Point to Point Line, width = 2, line style = solid line, Check Antialias, Check Create as a Vector

33.  In the Layer Palette, click on the Halo layer.  You want to draw this layer under the mittens.  Draw the outline of a book.  In the center top and bottom, make a slight point down (to show an open book).  See pic.

34.  When you are satisfied with the shape of your book, right-click anywhere on the picture and choose Quit Node Editing.

35.  In the Layer Palette, right-click on vector layer and choose Convert to Raster Layer.

36.  Right-click on that layer, and choose Rename.  Rename it Book.

Your completed outline should look like this!

 

37.  Save your progress.  Save this as an outline, so you can change colors later, or use just pieces of the picture.

Now is a good time to take a coffee or soda break.  But don't forget to come back!

Now continue to color and shade the angel.
