To shade the wing 1. Open up the outline that you made from the previous parts of this tutorial. 2.
In the Layer Palette, hide all layers except for the Wing. Click
on the Wing layer to activate it.
3. Grab the magic wand from the left tool menu. Click inside the wing to select the empty space. 4. In top menu, click on Selections > Modify > Expand > 1. 5. Set your foreground color to #F1F1F5, and select the paint can tool. Flood Fill the selected area with this color. 6. In top menu, click on Selections > Float. 7. In top menu, click on Edit > 3D Effects > Cutout. Set
the Shadow Color to #E1E9F1, verical & horizontal = 10, Opacity = 100,
Blur =30.
8. In the top menu, click Edit > Noise > Add Noise Set Noise
to 5% & Uniform.
9. In top menu, click on Selections > None. 10. In top menu, click on Layers > Add New Raster Layer. Name it Shadow. 11. In the Left tool menu, select the paint brush tool.
Set the tool options box to shape = round, size = 3, step =25, and Density-Opacity-Thickness
= 100.
13. Set your foreground color = white, and draw in some highlights on each feather, and wherever you think a highlight should be. 14. In top menu, choose Edit > Blur > Gaussian Blur. Set
Radius = 2.5
15. In Layer Palette, Hide ALL layers, except wing and shadow.
16. Right-click on wing layer and choose Merge > merge visible
17. Right-click on the merged layer and choose Rename. Rename layer as WING. 18. Right-click on Wing layer and choose Duplicate.
19. In top menu, click Image > Mirror. Now you have two
wings!
20. Save your progress. Save this as shaded angel. Now is a good time to take a coffee or soda break. But don't forget to come back! Now continue to color and shade the angel.
