This tutorial is intended for beginners to learn how to create a tag using plugins and blends.  If you have any questions, please feel free to Email  me.

To do this tutorial you will also need Paint Shop Pro.  I wrote this with  Paint Shop Pro X2, but the steps may also be done in any version.  You may download a free trial at Corel.

Remember to save as a psp file often!

Download Supplies.

Download and install Flaming Pear > Super BladePro Plugin.

Download and install the SBP preset:  jd Gold Shimmer

1.  Open a new, transparent image, size 500 x 400 pixels.

2.  Flood-fill the image with black.

3.  Open the clockworks tube (from supply folder).  Image > Resize, and set the height = 400 pixels. 

4.  Edit > Copy

5.  Click back on your black image.  Edit > Paste as new layer.  With the mover tool, move the clock into position in the top left corner.

6.  In the Layer Palette, right-click on the top layer and choose Duplicate.

7.  Adjust > Blur > Gaussian Blur  Radius = 5

8.  Adjust > Brightness/Contrast > Brightness/Contrast.  Brightness = 25, Contrast = 10

9.  In the Layer Palette, slide the opacity to 28-30

10.  Right-click on the top layer and choose Merge > Merge Down

11.  Open the wine glass tube in the supply folder.  Edit > Copy.  Click back on black image.  edit > Paste as new Layer.  With mover tool, move into position in lower right corner.

12.  Right-click on top layer and choose Merge > Merge All (Flatten)

13.  Image > Add Borders.  Symmetric, size = 2, color = white

14.  With the magic wand, select the white border.

15.  Effects > Plugins > Flaming Pear > Super Blade Pro.

16.  Click on the find Preset icon (circled in pink) and search for the jd-goldshimmer preset that you saved.  Choose it and click ok.

17.  Image > Add Borders  symmetric, size = 3, color = black

18.  Image > Add Borders  symmetric, size = 5, color = white

19.  Select the white border with the magic wand

20.  Effects > Plugins > Flaming Pear > Super BladePro  Use the same jd-goldshimmer preset.

21.  Image > Add Borders  symmetric, size = 35, color = black

22.  Layers > New Raster Layer

23.  Fill the selection with white

24.  Effects > Plugins > Flaming Pear > Superbladepro.  Use the same jd-goldshimmer preset.

25.  In the Layer Palette, set the layer blend mode to Dissolve

26.  Slide the opacity of the layer to 5

27.  Image > Add borders   symmetric, size = 3, color = black

28.  Image > Add borders, symmetric, size = 3, color = white

29.  Effects > Plugins > Flaming Pear > SuperBladePro  Use the same jd-goldshimmer preset

30.  Add some embellishments.  In the supply folder I provided some beads and some balloons.  Decorate as you wish by opening the file in PSP, Edit > Copy, then click on the tag image, and Edit > Paste as new layer.  Use the Raster Deformation tool to resize if necessary.

31.  I added the beads to the top left corner and then added a "glow" to the beads, by doing this:

In Layer Palette, duplicate bead layer.

In Layer Palette, click on bottom bead layer.

Adjust > Blur >Gaussian Blur, radius = 5

32.  Add your watermark and text.  Resize if necessary.

33.  Save this as a JPEG.  File > Export > JPEG Optimizer.
