This tutorial is intended for a beginner to learn about making a tag using blends.  If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.

To do this tutorial you will also need Photoshop CS - CS3.  You may download a free trial at Adobe.

Remember to save as a .psd file often!

Download Supplies.

Download and install Flaming Pear > Super BladePro Plugin.

Download and install the SBP preset:  jd Gold Shimmer

 

1.  Open a new, transparent image, size 500 x 400 pixels.

2.  Edit > Fill with Black

3.  Open up the clock image from the supply folder.  Image > Image Size.  Set the height = 400 pixels.  Select > All  then Edit > Copy

4.  Click back on your black image.  Edit > Paste.  With the mover tool, move the clock image into position in the top left corner

5.  In the Layer Palette, right-click on the clock layer and choose Duplicate Layer.

6.  Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur.  Radius = 10

7.  Slide the Opacity to 30%

8.  Right-click on the top layer and choose Merge Down

9.  Add any other image blend that you want.  I've also included a wine glass image in the supply folder.  Remember:  Select > All  and Edit > Copy on the image you want to add; then Edit > Paste on the black image you're making.

10.  Right-click on the top layer and choose Flatten Image.

11.  Select > All

12.  Edit > Stroke   width = 3 px, color = white

13.  With the magic wand, select the white border.

14.  Filter > Flaming Pear > Super Blade Pro .  Load the goldshimmer preset by clicking on the preset loader (see circled).  Click ok.  (Note:  MAC users who cannot get this filter to work can just use a gold gradient here.)

15.  Select > Deselect

16.  Image > Canvas Size.  ADD 6 to the width and height (to make a 3-pixel border).  Click on the center Anchor (white square in image).  Set Canvas extension color to black.

17.  Image > Canvas Size   ADD 10 to the width and height to make a 5-pixel border.  set Canvas extension color = white.

18.  With the magic wand select the white border.

19.  Filter > Flaming Pear > Super BladePro.  Use the same goldshimmer preset.

20.  Image > Canvas Size.  ADD 100 pixels to width and height to make a 50-pixel border.  Set Canvas extension color = black.

21.  With the magic wand, select the black border.

22.  Layer > New > Layer

23.  Edit > Fill  with WHITE

24.  Filter > Flaming Pear > Super Blade Pro   Use same goldshimmer preset.

25.  Change the Layer blend mode (In layer palette) to Dissolve

26.  Slide the Opacity to 5%.

27.  Right-click on the top layer and choose Merge Down

28.  Edit > Stroke  Width = 3 px, color = white

29.  With the magic wand select the white border.

30.  Filter > Flaming Pear > Super BladePro  Use the same goldshimmer preset

31.  Add your watermark and text.

32.  Save this as a JPEG.  File > Save As.
