I own the intellectual copyright for the written tutorial.  What you make is yours, but please do not take my tutorial.  Share only my link.

This tutorial is intended for a beginner to learn about making color flares.  If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.

To do this tutorial you will also need Photoshop CS - CS3.  You may download a free trial at Adobe.

Remember to save as a .psd file often!

1.  Open up a jpeg image.

2.  Filter > Render > Lighting Effects.

Set Style = circle of light.  Click on the center of each circle to activate it.  You can drag a node on the edge of the circle to make the circle larger.

3.  Edit > Fade Lighting Effects (so the effect is not so harsh)

4.  Set Opacity = 90%

5.  Filter > Render > Lighting Effects.

Set Style = Flashlight.  Drag a node on the outer circle edge to enlarge the circle.

6.  Filter > Render > Lens Flare

7.  Set Brightness = 115, Lens Type = 35mm Prime, and move the flare to the upper left corner

8.  Save this as a JPEG.  File > Save As
