Rotate Tool

This tutorial was created for some friends of mine who wanted to begin learning more about DAZ Studio.  It is intended for beginners to learn how to use the rotate tool.  If you have any questions, please feel free to Email  me.

To do this tutorial you will also need DAZ Studio

1.  Open DAZ and create a model.

Rotating pieces is helpful in bending or posing items.

Remember to select the piece that you want to rotate by left-clicking on it first.  And yes if you select the entire item, the whole item will rotate.

2.  Select the part of the item that you wish to rotate.

3.  Click on the Rotate tool in the tool menu (circled).

4.  A rotate ball will appear in the image.

In my image below you can see that part of the wing is selected, and that is the part that will be affected by this rotate ball.

The rotate ball has 3 rotation wheels -- red, blue, green.

Pick one that you want to rotate.  Hove the mouse over it until that circle becomes yellow, and then drag the mouse in the direction of the circle.  So if I selected the green rotation wheel, I would drag the mouse left or right.

Practice moving each colored wheel to see how it affects your picture.  There is always the UNDO button if you don't like the way it rotated.
