Loading Textures in DAZ
I wrote this tutorial on my own. Any similarity to another tutorial is purely coincidental. I claim the copyright to my tutorial. You are free to do whatever you please with what you make, but please do not take my tutorial. Do not send the tutorial through email. Only share my link. This tutorial was created for some friends of mine who wanted to begin learning more about DAZ Studio. It is intended for beginners to learn how to load textures that you make. If you have any questions, please feel free to Email me. To do this tutorial you will also need DAZ Studio. This is a continuation of the Making a Character Texture Tutorial However, this part of the tutorial can be used to learn to load any kind of texture, whether for characters or for clothing. 1. Open DAZ and load the item that you wish to add the texture to. So let's load Victoria 4. 2. Click on the Surfaces tab. 3. Select the surface that you wish to change. I held the CTRL key down and selected Lip, Nostril, Skinface since they are all on the same template.
4. Changing the surface texture will be a 2 step process. First you must change the diffuse color to white, and then add the texture you made.
So (1) click on the Diffuse Color bar. A color box like the one below pops up. Pick White, and then click on Add to Custom Color, then OK.
Then (2) click on the menu arrow next to the Diffuse Color bar and choose Browse for image. You will browse to the folder where you stored your textures.
Remember, we placed it in
5. Choose the face template and click OK. 6. Now repeat Steps 3 - 5 for all surfaces that you need to save. And there you have your textured item. You're ready to render, but first I suggest you save the texture as MATS so that you don't have to repeat these steps anymore. Continue to the Making Texture MATS tutorial.
