This tutorial was created for some friends of mine who wanted to begin learning more about DAZ Studio.  It is intended for beginners to learn how to change color in DAZ program itself.  If you have any questions, please feel free to Email  me.

To do this tutorial you will also need DAZ Studio

1.  Open up DAZ Studio and create a model and pose it (as usual).

2.  Click the Surfaces icon in the tool menu (circled).

3.  If your Surfaces Window is not showing, Click View > Tabs > Surfaces  That will place a check next to Surfaces.

4.  On the model, left-click on the surface on which you want to change color.  I clicked on the bodice part of the shirt.  It will temporarily highlight like below.

5.  In the Surfaces window you will see a file listing on the left side.  Scroll down and you will see what part of the image has been highlighted (1).  If that's what you wanted to select, then go on to the next step, or you can re-select or just highlight the part you want to work with.

6.  On the right side, click on the ADVANCED tab.  You see the word DIFFUSE.  There are 3 numbers underneath "Diffuse Color" .  Click in that number box somewhere in a blank area.  I clicked BETWEEN the two zeros. (2)

7.  A color box comes up.  Select the color that you want to use.  Click on Add to Custom Colors.  Click OK.

Now that part of her shirt has been changed to the color I selected.

8.  Now with the mouse cursor click on another part of the picture to select it.  I chose to select the trim on her shirt.  Repeat Step 6 & 7 with another color.

9.  This is also how you change skin color.  Click on a part of the skin.  RIGHT-click on it and choose Select all Surfaces with this Diffuse Color.

10. Then in the Surfaces Window, pick the color you want to use for the skin.

11.  When you are finished changing colors.  Render your model (Render > Render)  and then save it.  File > Save Last Render
