I own the intellectual copyright for the written tutorial.  What you make is yours, but please do not take my tutorial.  Share only my link.

This tutorial was created for some friends of mine who wanted to begin learning more about DAZ Studio.  It is intended for beginners to learn the file structure of DAZ Studio.  If you have any questions, please feel free to Email  me.

To do this tutorial you will also need DAZ Studio.

DAZ >Studio >Content >Runtime >

Geometries folder  (and store all obj files IN THE FOLDER they come with into this geometries folder-- You have no choice here!  Do not mess with this folder's hierarchy.)

     Libraries folder
Character  (all CR2  go inside this folder or any subfolders --here you have choice of folders, but you can do like you want)
People  ( I put all the people together)
Clothes  (then I make a folder for clothing meshes)
                     Aiko
                     Michael 3  (etc.)
Face (all FC2  go inside this folder or any subfolders)

                     Aiko
                     Michael 3  (etc.)
Hair  (all HR2 go inside this folder or any subfolders)
                     Aiko
                     Michael 3  (etc.)
Hand  (all HD2  go inside this folder or any subfolders)
                     Aiko
                     Michael 3  (etc.)
Light (all LT2  go inside this folder or any subfolders)
                     Aiko
                     Michael 3  (etc.)
Pose  (all PZ2, PZ3  go inside this folder or any subfolders)
                     Aiko
                     Michael 3  (etc.)
Props (all PP2  go inside this folder or any subfolders)
                     Aiko
                     Michael 3  (etc.)
Textures  (this is where the jpegs go -- INSIDE the folders they came in

****** Again, do not change the Geometries folder at all.  Just drop all folders with obj files into the Geometries folder (save them in there).

Same with the textures folder!

Only the folders inside the Libraries folder can be rearranged to your liking.
