I own the intellectual copyright for the written tutorial. What you make is yours, but please do not take my tutorial. Share only my link. This tutorial was created for some friends of mine who wanted to begin learning more about DAZ Studio. It is intended for beginners to learn how to package mesh files for sharing. If you have any questions, please feel free to Email me. To do this tutorial you will also need DAZ Studio. You also need the Font to Mesh Converter program found at DAZ, and the Poser program (optional). You will also need UVMapper 1. Let's prepare Poser (if you plan on using it) Find the poser program folder among your program files. double-click on it.
2. Double-click on Runtime. Double-click on Libraries. Double-click on Character. Inside the Character folder create a new folder and call it DragonBreath
3. Open up the Font to Mesh Express Converter.
At the top right click on Text Chooser, and choose the font you want to use. Then where it says Input Text, delete what's typed there and type your own words. Click apply to see it in action 4. Click Save, and save to your desktop as an OBJECT file.
5. Open up UVMapper. File > Load Model.
6. You will see this message.
7. Edit > New UVMap > Box
8. Get these settings
9. It will look something like that.
10. File > Save Model
11. Check these options
12. Save as a WAVEFRONT MODEL-- overwrite your previous file on your desktop.
13. Choose yes to replace.
14. Now save the texture map. File > Save Texture Map.
15. Use these settings
16. It will save as a bitmap, save to desktop also.
Use Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop on the Texture Map (bmp) file to create textures for your word meshes.
Now you need to choose what you want to do. 1. Go directly to DAZ, and use the file just for yourself. or 2. Use Poser to set up poser files for it and be able to share with others.
