Download Supplies  You may use your own skyline picture, if you wish.  All files will be opened in Photoshop.

1.  Open a new, transparent image, size = 400 x 200 pixels

2.  Open the skyline picture of your choice.  There are a few included in the supply folder, but you may use your own.  Image > Resize.  Set the width to about 500 or 600 pixels (The height will automatically adjust, just make sure that it does NOT get smaller than 200 pixels.)

3.  On the skyline picture:  Select > All   Edit > Copy

4.  Click back on the new image.  Edit > Paste  With the mover tool, move the image around to place it the way you want it.

5.  Layer > New > Layer

6.  Choose the paint bucket tool  (You may have to right-click on the gradient tool)

22.  Choose the Gradient tool.  Set it to a gradient that you like.  I chose a gold gradient.  But you could just as well use the black-white gradient.  The color does not matter.  You will be adjusting the color.

23.  With the gradient tool Left-click near the top of the selection and drag down to the bottom.  Release, and the selection box should turn into the gradient color.

24.  Image > Adjustment Layer > Hue/Saturation.   Place a CHECK in the Colorize box.  The bottom color bar then becomes a preview of the color as you slide the sliders around.  Slide around the sliders until you get the color you used to shade your skyline.  It doesn't have to be the exact darkness.
