I wrote this tutorial on my own. Any similarity to another tutorial is purely coincidental. I claim the copyright to my tutorial. You are free to do whatever you please with what you make, but please do not take my tutorial. Do not send the tutorial through email. Only share my link. This tutorial is intended for a beginner to learn about making a webset background. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me. To do this tutorial you will also need Photoshop CS or CS2. You may download a free trial at Adobe. Remember to save as a .psd file often! You will need to have knowledge of your own webpage building program or html, to make the webpage. I cannot help you with that. You will need to download the Simple Diamond Plugin. Download the 10 filters and bonus pack. Unzip and place into your filters folder of Photoshop. 1. Open a graphic of your choice. Image > Duplicate. Close the original. 2. Choose the Rectangle Marquee tool. In the top tool bar, set Style = Fixed Aspect Ratio. This will make the selection a square.
3. Draw a square around the part of the image that you would like to use for the background.
4. Image > Crop
5. Select > All 6. Edit > Stroke. Width = 6 px, Color = your choice, Location = inside
7. Select > Deselect. (Optional) With the magic wand, click on the color border you just made. If you want this to be a gold or silver gradient, choose the gradient tool, and then drag the mouse diagonally.
8. Filters > Simple > Diamonds
9. Select All
10. Edit > Stroke width = 4 - 6 px., same color. Select with magic wand and change to gradient if you did that already.
11. Now save this as a JPEG or GIF. File > Save As. 12. This kind of background needs a center table that is plain, so that you can use text on your web page. So File > New image > size = 155 by 155
13. Flood-fill the new image with a matching color from your diamond background. 14. Filter > Texture > Texturizer. Apply these settings: Texture = Sandstone, scaling = 149, relief = 2.
15. Filter > Simple > QuickTile. 16. Now save this background as a JPEG or GIF.
