To do this tutorial you will also need Photoshop CS - CS3.  You may download a free trial at Adobe.

Remember to save as a .psd file often!

Download Supplies.

Download The Greg's Factory Output Vol II > Pool Shadow   Plugin.

Download the Hole font.

1.  Before opening Photoshop, open the Hole font On your desktop and minimize.  Then open Photoshop.

1.  Open a new, transparent image, size = 400 x 300 pixels.

2.  Edit > Fill with a charcoal or dark color (don't use black).

3.  Filter > Greg's Factory Output, Vol.  II > Pool Shadow

4.  Choose the Text tool.  Set the font = HOLE, size = 144 pt, color = white  Type 2008.  Click on the check mark.

5.  In the Layer Palette, right-click on the text layer and choose rasterize type.

6.  Choose the rectangle Marquee Tool

7.  Hold the CTRL key down and with the mouse left-click once inside the thumbnail of the 2008 layer. (see pink arrow)

8.  Choose the Gradient Tool

9.  Set the gradient to a gold or silver gradient.  Draw the gradient through the selection.  (Left-click and drag across to make the line then release the mouse)

10.  Filter > Noise > Add Noise.  Amount = 40%, Gaussian, Monochromatic

11.  Select > Deselect

12.  Open the gold pearl ball from the supply folder.  Selection > Select All.  Edit > Copy

13.  Click on the 2008 image.  Edit > Paste.

14.  As you can see, the gold pearl is too large.  Edit > Transform > Scale.  Click on the Maintain aspect ratio lock (see pink circle). 

15.  This puts a deformation box around the pearl.  Drag in the corners until the pearl is small like in the picture below.

16.  In the Layer Palette, right-click and choose duplicate.  With the mover tool, move the gold pearl into position.

17.  Continue to duplicate the gold pearl and place with the mover tool until you have as many as you want.

18.  Now repeat steps 12 -17 with the white pearl tube.

19.  Layer > New > Layer

20.  Select > All

21.  Edit > Stroke  Width = 5 px, color = white  With the magic wand, click on the white border.

22.  Choose the same gradient and draw the gradient in the selection

23.  Filter > Noise > Add Noise  Amount = 40%, Gaussian, Monochromatic

24.  Add your watermark and text.  Resize as necessary.

25.  Save this as a JPEG.  File > Save As
