This tutorial is intended for a beginner to learn about making tileable background. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me. To do this tutorial you will also need Photoshop CS - CS3. You may download a free trial at Adobe. Remember to save as a .psd file often! Download Simple Plugins. 1. Open new, transparent image, size 600 x 600 2. Edit > Fill > Black
3. Filters > Render > Lens Flare
4. Set Brightness = 100%, Lens Type - 50 - 300mm Zom
5. Filters > Render > Lens Flare. MOVE the Crosshair to top right corner (see gold arrow). Brightness = 139%, Lens type = 35mm Prime
6. Filters > Render > Lens Flare. MOVE the Crosshair to lower right corner. Brightness = 109%, Lens type = 105 mm Prime
7. Filters > Stylize > Glowing Edges
8. Edge width = 2, edge brightness = 17, smoothness = 6
9. Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation
10. Place check next to colorize. Here's my blue color settings. (My green color settings are at the end of the tut).
11. Filter > Distort > Wave
12. Leave all settings the same EXCEPT, set type = Square, Select Wrap Around, and click Randomize until you get a pattern you like.
13. Image > Adjustment Layers > Curves. You will get the straight diagonal line in the picture. drag that center of the line to the corner where the gold arrow is pointing.
14. Filters > Sketch > Water Paper
15. Fiber length = 25, brightness = 60, contrast = 60
16. Filter > Simple > Quick Tile (no settings for this filter, it automatically applies)
And you're done!
