Coloring a Fish Tank

I wrote this tutorial on my own.  Any similarity to another tutorial is purely coincidental.  I claim the copyright to my tutorial. You are free to do whatever you please with what you make, but please do not take my tutorial.  Do not send the tutorial through email.  Only share my link.

This tutorial is intended for a beginner to learn about making animation.  If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.

To do this tutorial you will also need Photoshop CS or CS2.  You may download a free trial at Adobe.

Remember to save as a .psd file often!

Download Supplies.

1.  Open the tank file.  Image > Duplicate.  close the original.

2.  With the magic wand, select the outside of the tank outline.  Hold the SHIFT key to select more than one region.

3.  Select > Inverse

4.  Layer > New > Layer Drag this layer to the bottom.

5.  Flood-fill this layer with a dark blue color.  Slide the Opacity = 25%

6.  Layer > New Layer.

7.  Edit > stroke  width = 20 pix, color = black, Inside, Mode = screen, opacity = 100%

7.  Layer > New > Layer

8.  Spray some white (airbrush settings size = 40).  This will be the reflection glow on the tank.

9.  Set the size = 10 pixels and spray white along the rim of the bowl.

10.  Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur.  Radius = 20.5

12.  Click on the Fish Tank layer and slide the opacity = 46%.

13.  Layers > merge Visible

14.  Save this as a PSD file.

15.  Open some fish tubes, and paste them into your fish bowl for decoration.

16.  Save this as a GIF   File > Save As.
