Floral Lace Frame
I wrote this tutorial on my own. Any similarity to another tutorial is purely coincidental. I claim the copyright to my tutorial. This tutorial is intended for a beginner to learn how to make this frame using some plugin/filters. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me. To do this tutorial you will also need Photoshop CS or CS2. You may download a free trial at Adobe. Remember to save as a .psd file often! Download the FM Tile Tools filter Download the Greg's Filter 2. Download the supplies (the lace corner) 1. Open up the photo that you wish to use. Image > Duplicate, close the original. 2. Resize so that the biggest side is no bigger than 400 pixels. Image > Resize 3. Use the color dropper and choose a light and dark color from your graphic. (I chose to use a gold gradient as my light color so I picked white in the dropper) 4. Layers > Flatten Image (If it's not already) Image > Canvas Size. Add 6 to the canvas size for width and height. Be sure that Canvas Extension color (at bottom) is set to WHITE If you want to make this a gradient: Use the magic wand to select the border, and fill with a gradient of your choice.
5. Layers > Flatten Image (If it's not already) Image > Canvas Size. Add 6 to the canvas size for width and height. Be sure that Canvas Extension color (at bottom) is set to your DARK COLOR 6. Layers > Flatten Image (If it's not already) Image > Canvas Size. Add 6 to the canvas size for width and height. Be sure that Canvas Extension color (at bottom) is set to WHITE (make gradient if you chose before) 7. Layers > Flatten Image (If it's not already) Image > Canvas Size. Add 50 to the canvas size for width and height. Be sure that Canvas Extension color (at bottom) is set to Dark Color 8. Use the magic wand to select the border. 9. Filters> Gregs Filter 2 > Pool Shadow. Apply these settings: Diagonal = 50, center = 50, horizontal = 50, diagonal = 50, horizontal = 50, vertical = 50, intensity = 85, lightness = 128.
10. Repeat Steps 5, 6, and 7
11. Layers > Flatten Image (If it's not already) Image > Canvas Size. Add 70 to the canvas size for width and height. Be sure that Canvas Extension color (at bottom) is set to DARK COLOR 12. Select the border with the magic wand. Filters> FM Tile Tools > Collage - Circular. apply default settings
13. Layers > Flatten Image (If it's not already) Image > Canvas Size. Add 6 to the canvas size for width and height. Be sure that Canvas Extension color (at bottom) is set to WHITE (make gradient if you chose before) 14. Open up the lace corner tube. Edit > Copy, click back on the frame and Edit > Paste as new layer. Move the corner into position
15. Right-click on the lace corner layer and choose Duplicate. Edit > Transform > Flip Horizontal 16. Right-click on the top layer and choose Merge > merge down 17. Right-click on the top layer and choose Duplicate. Edit > Transform > Flip Vertical 18. Layers > Flatten Image 19. Save this as a JPEG. File > Save As
