This tutorial was created for some friends of mine who wanted to begin learning more about PSP. It is intended for beginners to learn how to use layers and plugins. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me. To do this tutorial you will also need Paint Shop Pro. I wrote this with Paint Shop Pro 9, but the steps may also be done in any version. You may download a free trial at Jasc. Click on the link to download the supplies. Includes mask tubes and a variety of jesters. You will need to install the VM Toolbox Zoomblur filter. Remember to save as a psp file often! 1. Open up the mask tube from the supplies download. 2. Hold the SHIFT + D key to duplicate the tube. Close the original. 3. Right-click on the mask layer and choose New Raster Layer.
4. In the Layer Palette, drag the new layer down to the bottom. With the paint can tool, flood-fill it with white. You need the white background because part of this tag will be semi-transparent.
5. Right-click on the Mask Layer and choose Duplicate.
6. Click on the eye of the Copy of Masks layer to HIDE that layer. Then click on the mask layer to highlight it.
7. In the top menu, click Effects > Plugins > VM Toolbox > ZoomBlur. Apply these settings: Amount = 28, Adjust = 56 The settings don't really matter. Pick the settings you like best.
8. In the Layer Palette, Drag the opacity slider down to 50%.
9. In the Layer Palette, Click on the eye of the top layer (Copy of masks) to UNHIDE that layer, and click on it so that it becomes highlighted. 10. In the top menu, click Image > Resize. Resize the masks to 85%. Be sure that Resize All Layers is NOT checked.
11. In top menu, click Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow. Apply these settings: Vertical & Horizontal = 10, Opacity = 40, Blur = 10, Color = black.
12. In top menu, click Layers > Merge > Flatten. 13. Resize to a good tag size. I resized mine to a width = 300 pixels. Image > Resize. 14. Add your watermark and text, and then save as a jpeg. File > Export > Jpeg Optimizer
