Lace Side Border I wrote this tutorial on my own. Any similarity to another tutorial is purely coincidental. I claim the copyright to my tutorial. This tutorial is intended for a beginner to learn about using filters and Adjustment Layers. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me. To do this tutorial you will also need Photoshop CS or CS2. You may download a free trial at Adobe. Remember to save as a .psd file often! Download the DSB Flux Tiler filter. Place the filter into your Photoshop Filters folder (see this tutorial if you need more explanation: Installing Plugins/Filters 1. Download the Lace Side Border Template. 2. Image > Duplicate. Close the Original.
3. Click on the bottom layer in the Layer Palette. Edit > Fill. Fill with a color or a pattern. My image is showing how to select a pattern. Click on the down arrow for use and choose pattern, then choose the pattern you want to use.
4. Click on the Lace Edging (top layer) and with the magic wand select the rectangle section to the left of the lace edge.
5. Click on the Decorative Image (middle) layer. 6. Open the image that you wish to paste there. Edit > Copy. 7. Click back on the background image and click Edit > Paste Into
8. Click on the Lace Edging layer at the top
9. You can adjust the color of the lace to fit your image. Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation.
10. Place a check next to COLORIZE (lower right corner) so that you can see the bottom bar change colors. Then adjust the numbers for Hue, Saturation, and Lightness. Watch the bottom color bar change colors until you find the shade you want to use.
11. In the Layer Palette, click on the eye next to the Lace Edging layer to HIDE that layer. Then right-click on the bottom layer to choose Merge Visible.
12. Filters > DSB Flux > Tiler. Make Width = 100, Height = 65, adjust the Y Offset to 10, or whatever makes your preview look good.
13. Choose the text tool and a font with small font size. Type your watermark.
14. Edit > Transform > Rotate and slide the top right corner to the left to rotate your watermark so that it is vertical (see my side border). 15. Layers > Merge Flatten. 16. Now Save as a JPEG image. File > Save As. change the File format type to JPG.
