This tutorial is intended for a beginner to learn about making a lattice effect. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me. To do this tutorial you will also need Photoshop CS or CS2. You may download a free trial at Adobe. Remember to save as a .psd file often! Download Eye Candy 4000 1. Open new, transparent image, size 400 x 400 2. Set foreground color to lattice color of your choice. 3. Choose the Shape tool and pick your shape. Draw a large heart (or shape of your choice). Right-click on the layer and choose Rasterize Layer
4. If you want to make the color a gradient, choose gradient tool and choose gradient. Then Drag the gradient across the shape. 5. Filters> Eye Candy 4000 > Weave Apply these settings: 14.44, 39.05, 50, 50, 8.74, UNCHECK Smear, Choose Make Gaps Transparent
6. Right-click on the lattice layer and choose Blending Options. Click on the WORDS Drop Shadow. Set Distance, spread, size = 1. 7. Now decorate your lattice frame with tubes of your choice. Edit > Copy the tube and then click back on the lattice-- Edit > Paste 8. To make it look like the tulips were weaved into the lattice: On the lattice layer: choose the selection marquee tool. Then hold the CTRL key down and click on the THUMBNAIL of the Lattice layer. This should select the lattice. 9. Click back on the tulip layer and with the eraser tool, erase parts of the tulip stem to make it look like the tulips are weaved behind the lattice. By choosing the selection, you will only erase the part of the tulip that falls within the selected lattice.
10. Continue decorating your lattice and adding text. 11. Save this as a GIF. File > Save As
