This tutorial is intended for beginners to learn about layer blends.  If you have any questions, please feel free to Email  me.

To do this tutorial you will also need Paint Shop Pro.  I wrote this with  Paint Shop Pro XI, but the steps may also be done in any version.  You may download a free trial at Corel.

Remember to save as a psp file often!

Download Supplies.  You will also need a photograph.  Unzip  the supplies and open the tubes in PsP.

Download MuRa's Meister Filters > Copies.

1.  Open, new transparent image, size = 125 by 180

2.  Pick a medium color from your image as your foreground color, and a light color as your background color.  In the Material properties, choose Gradient style and pick the foreground-background gradient.  Set it to Sunburst style, Repeats = 0, Horizontal & Vertical = 50.

3.  Flood-fill the new image with your gradient.

4.  Selections > Select All.  Selections > Modify Selections > Contract.  Contract by 5 pixels.

5.  Adjust > Noise > Add Noise.  Gaussian, Noise = 10%.  Check Monochrome

6.  Selections > Invert.  Flood-fill the selection with white.  Selections > Invert

7.  SHIFT+D to duplicate this image.

8.  Open up your photo.  Use the Selection tool to crop the part of the image that you want to frame.  Do a close-up selection.  Edit > Copy.

9.  Click back on one of the frames and click Edit > Paste Into Selection.

10.  Go back to your photo and select a part of your image that includes more of the picture (so it looks further away).  Edit > Copy.

11.  Click on the other frame.  Edit > Paste Into Selection.

12.  File > New Image.  Size = 500 x 250, transparent.

13.  Flood-fill the image with the medium color you had chosen.

14.  Effects > Textures > Blinds.  Width = 3, Opacity = 15, Color = black, CHECK Horizontal and Light from top

15.  Open one of the flower tubes, edit > Copy.  Click on your green image.  Edit > Paste as New Layer.

16.  Set the Layer Blend Mode to Luminance (Legacy) and set the opacity of that tube layer to 79%.

17.  Repeat Steps 15 & 16 with the other flower tubes.

18.  Click on the "Far away" view of your frame.  Edit > Copy.  Click back on the flower  image.  Edit > Paste as New Layer.

19.  Effects > Image Effects > Offset.  Horizontal offset = 175, Vertical offset = 0, Edge Mode = Repeat.

20.  Right-click on the photo layer and choose Duplicate

21.  Image > Mirror.

22.  Click on the Close-up view.  Edit > Copy.  Then click on the flower image.  Edit > Paste as new Layer.

23.  Right-click on the second layer (the mirror image) and choose Merge > merge Down.

24.  Effects > Plugins > MuRa's Filter Meister > Copies.  Apply these settings:  Feedback (center), Line, Behind , Number = 5, 0, 0, 0, 0, Attenuation = 100, 0, 0, Fade out = 50

25.  Image > Add borders.  Symmetric, Size = 5, Color = White

26.  Choose your Text tool and add your name or watermark.  I used font = Times New Roman, Italics, Size = 24 pixels, foreground = white, background = medium color, stroke = 1

27.  Now save this as  a JPEG.  File > Export > JPEG Optimizer.
