often! 2. Image > Duplicate 3. New > Layer from Background (if this is greyed out then your image is already a layer)
4. Choose the Selection/Marquee Tool. Right-click on the marquee tool and set it to Ellipse. In the tool bar set it to fixed ratio, so that it will make a circle. 5. Draw a circle selection marquee around the part of the image that you want to use on your ornament.
6. Select > Inverse
7. Press the Delete key on the keyboard
8. Select > Inverse
9. Right-click on the layer and choose Duplicate Layer
10. Filter > Distort > Glass. Apply these settings: Distortion = 5, Smoothness = 3, Texture = Frosted, Scaling = 100%
11. In the Layer Palette, Change the Layer Style to Multiply, and set the Opacity to 75%
12. Layer > Merge Visible
13. Right-click on the layer and choose Blending Options. Click on the WORDS Inner Shadow, and apply these settings: Normal, black, opacity = 50%, angle = 30, distance = 5, choke = 10, size = 46, contour to the one in the pic below.
14. New > Layer
15. Choose the paintbrush tool. In the tool bar, set the brush to 15 pix, 60% hardness. Then click on the airbrush icon in the paintbrush tool bar (top of screen)
16. With the airbrush tool, draw two white arcs as shown in the picture below. This will be the glow on the ornament, so place them where you want the glow to be.
17. Filter > Blur Gaussian Blur. Radius = 8 pixels.
18. Layer > New Layer 19. Choose the selection/marquee tool. Right-click on the selection tool and choose Rectangle Marquee. Draw a small rectangle at the top of the ornament. 20. Choose the gradient tool (you might need to right-click on the paint can tool). In the gradient tool bar, choose the bronze gradient. With your left mouse button, click in the top left corner of the selection box and and drag to the bottom right corner (diagonal) and release. The selection box should feel with the bronze gradient, as below.
21. Right-click on the selection marquee tool and choose Ellipse. In the selection marquee toolbar Take the check OFF Fixed ratio and put check on first choice. Draw an ellipse at the top of the bronze rectangle, as shown in the picture below.
22. Choose the gradient tool set to the bronze gradient again. This time left click and drag from top of the llipse to the bottom of the ellipse and release.
23. Select > Deselect 24. Image > Adjustments > Hue and Saturation. Place a Check in the Colorize and Preview box, then set Hue = 36, Saturation = 41, Lightness = +13
25. Layer > New Layer 26. Choose the Ellipse Marquee Tool, set to fixed ratio (for a circle) Draw a small circle, as show in the pic below. Choose the bronze gradient tool, and this time fill from left to right.
27. Select > Modify > Contract Selection. Contract by 6.
28. Press the delete key. Select > Deselect 29. Right-click on the layer in the Layer Palette and choose Blending Options. Click on the WORDS Bevel and Emboss. Use the settings below.
30. Layer > Merge Visible. 31. Now save as a GIF.
File > Save As. Change file format to GIF
