Pom Pom Wreath or Tree
I wrote this tutorial on my own. Any similarity to another tutorial is purely coincidental. I claim the copyright to my tutorial. You are free to do whatever you please with what you make, but please do not take my tutorial. Do not send the tutorial through email. Only share my link. This tutorial was created for some friends of mine who wanted to begin learning more about PSP. It is intended for beginners to learn how to use plugins. If you have any questions, please feel free to Email me. To do this tutorial you will also need Paint Shop Pro. I wrote this with Paint Shop Pro X, but the steps may also be done in any version. You may download a free trial at Corel. Remember to save as a psp file often! You will need to download Alien Skin's Eye Candy 4000 plugin (not free, but there is a demo). You may also use Eye Candy 3.1. 1. Open new, transparent image, size = 500 x 500 2. Choose the ellipse tool (You may need to right-click on the rectangle marquee tool to select the ellipse). In the Ellipse tool bar at the top, Set Style = circle 3. Draw a circle (about 50 pixels across) on the image. 4. Using the paint can, flood-fill the circle with a green color (because I was making a Christmas wreath). 5. Selection > None 6. Effects > Plugins > Eye Candy 4000 > Fur. Apply these settings: Direction = 0, Density = 80, Curl Size = 36, Curliness = 75, Length = 36.
7. Effects > Plugins > Eye Candy 4000 > Fur. Apply the same settings EXCEPT change the Direction = 173 - 180.
8. In the top menu, Effects > Plugins > Eye Candy 4000 > Jiggle. Apply these settings: Movement Type = Brownian Motion, Bubble Size = 53.22, Warp Amount = 12.72, Twist = 84.
9. Right- click on the the ball layer and choose Duplicate. With the mover tool, move into position (to make a circle)
10. Continue to Duplicate layers and move them into position until you have a full circle.
11. Layers > Merge >Merge Visble 12. Nows save it as a PSP file (so you can reuse). File > Save As. 13. Now decorate your wreath with images of pine cones or whatever you wish to use. Open each image. Then Edit > Copy. Then click on the wreath and choose Edit > Paste. When you are done adding images, Layers > Merge Visible. Then save as a GIF. File > Export > GIF Optimizer.
You can also use this to make a tree, or a heart wreath. Be creative.
