This tutorial is intended for a beginner to learn about animating layers. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me. To do this tutorial you will also need Photoshop CS. You may download a free trial at Adobe. You will need the RedGold Heart Layers that you saved from the Speckled Trimmed Heart Tutorial. Remember to save as a .psd file often! 1. Open the RedGold heart layers you had saved. 2. In top menu, click Image > Duplicate. Close the original. 3. Right-click on the top heart layer and choose Duplicate Layer.
4. In top menu, click Edit > Transform > Scale. 5. In the Scale bar at the top, change both the Width and height to 98%
6. Now you are ready to import this image into Image Ready. Click on the Edit in Image Ready icon at the bottom of the tool menu.
If this is your first time doing animation in Image Ready, then you need to set it up for animation. See this quick tutorial on how to set up Image Ready for Animation. 7. In the Animation Frames, click on the arrow (circled) and choose Copy Frame.
8. Click on the arrow again and choose paste Frame.
9. This box will come up and choose Paste After Selection.
10. Hold the CTRL key down and click on both frames. At the bottom of the frame is a little arrow next to .1 sec. Change the time to .2 (you may change this again later).
11. Now click on the first frame. Then in the Layer Palette, click on the eye for the second red heart to HIDE that layer.
12. Now click on the second frame. In the Layer Palette, click on the eye of the top Heart Layer to HIDE that layer, and the eye of the second heart layer to UNHIDE that layer.
13. Now click on the play button and watch your animation play.
If you are not happy with the speed, press the stop button then adjust the seconds again. A higher number will make the animation slow down, and smaller number will make it go faster. 14. When satisfied, save the animation. File > Save Optimized As.
