I claim the copyright to this tutorial. You are free to do whatever you please with what you make, but please do not take my tutorial. Do not send the tutorial through email. Only share my link. This tutorial is intended for a beginner to learn about filling selections. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me. To do this tutorial you will also need Photoshop CS. You may download a free trial at Adobe. You need to download these supplies. This zip file contains the tube of the girl. This tube was colorized by me. You may use another tube (transparent image) of your choice. Remember to save as a .psd file often! 1. Open up the lady image. In top menu, click Image > Duplicate to duplicate the image. Close the original. 2. In top menu, click Image > Image Size. Set the height = 250 pixels. The width will automatically resize. Click Ok.
3. Whenever you shrink an image you lose some of its crispness. In top menu, click Filter > Sharpen > Unsharpen Mask. Set amount = 50%, Radius = 3, Threshold = 12.
4. In top menu, click Image > Canvas Size. Set the width & the height = 300 pixels, centered (click on white square where arrows are), Relative UNCHECKED
5. In the Layer Palette, right-click on the layer and choose Duplicate Layer.
6. In top menu, click Edit > Free Transform.
7. This puts some deformation handles around your image. Left click and hold on top of the top left circle and drag the image down diagonally to shrink the lady. Press the check in the tool bar at the top when you are happy with the resizing.
8. Move your cursor near the top right circle and you will get a curved arrow. This is the rotate cursor. When you have the rotate cursor, left click and drag down some. This rotates the image to the right (clockwise). How much you rotate is up to you. Press the check in the toolbar at the top when you are happy with the rotation.
9. With the mover tool, move the small lady so that its bottom right corner lines up with the bottom right corner of the bigger lady.
10. In the Layer Palette, drag the layer of the small girl (top layer) down below the layer of the big girl (below the bottom layer). So now the layer of the small girl should be the bottom layer. 11. In the top menu, click Filter > Distort > Wave. Set Number of Generators = 2, wavelength Min = 71, Max = 99, Amplitude Min = 1, Max = 43, Scale Horizontal & Vertical = 100%.
12. Your image should now look like this.
13. In the Layer Palette, Click on the arrow next to opacity, and slide the opacity bar to 30%.
This makes your small girl become a shadow *S*
14. In top menu, click on Layer > New > Layer
15. In top menu, click Edit > Fill. Choose Color and make color be white (#FFFFFF). I chose white because I usually use white backgrounds in my email. If you plan on using a different color background, then you will need to choose that color for this layer.
16. In the Layer Palette, drag the white layer down to the bottom.
17. Click on the top layer in your Layer Palette. Choose the text tool with a font and font color of your choice (about size 72) and type your name. You do this by clicking with the left mouse button on your image and then typing. 18. Right-click on the text layer and choose rasterize layer. 19. In the Layer Palette, Right-click on the text layer and choose Blending Options. 20. In the options box, click on the WORDS Drop Shadow. Set the Blend Mode = Normal, Angle = 133, Distance = 2, Spread = 0, Size = 2.
21. Choose your rectangular selection tool from the tool menu, and draw a box closely around the tag area. We will remove the excess space to make the file smaller.
22. In the top menu, click Image > Crop. 23. Resize the image if you want to. Image > Image Size. I set mine to a height of 200 pixels. 24. Now save the tag as a jpeg. File > Save As. Now it's
ready to use in email.
