This tutorial was created for some friends of mine who wanted to begin learning more about PSP.  It is intended for intermediates to learn how to use preset shapes and to shade.  If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.

To do this tutorial you will also need Paint Shop Pro.  I used Paint Shop Pro 8, but the steps used may also be done in Version 7.04.  You may download a free trial at Jasc.

I also used these plugins:

You will also need a tube of your choice.

Remember to save as a psp file often!

1.  Open the tube of your choice.  Press Shift +D to duplicate it.  Close the original.

2.  In the Layer Palette, right-click on the layer and Duplicate.  Duplicate it again so that now you have three copies of this tube.

3.  In the Layer Palette, right-click on the bottom layer and choose New Raster Layer.  Call this layer background.  Drag the background layer to the bottom.  Flood-fill with white.

4.  In the Layer Palette, HIDE the top two copy layers by clicking on the eye to make the Red X.

5.  In the Layer Palette, activate the Layer1 layer (above the background) by clicking on it.

6.  In top menu, click Effects > Plugins > VM Toolbox > Zoom Blur.  Apply these settings:  Amount = 214, Adjust = 22.

7.  In the Layer Palette, slide the opacity bar for this layer to 60.  Then click on the copy of Layer1 to activate that layer.
