Sliced Tile Tag

This tutorial is intended for beginners to learn how to create a tag using filters.  If you have any questions, please feel free to Email  me.

To do this tutorial you will also need Paint Shop Pro.  I wrote this with  Paint Shop Pro X2, but the steps may also be done in any version.  You may download a free trial at Corel.

Remember to save as a psp file often!

Download this Plugins:  Simple

1.  Open a new, transparent image, size 400 x 300.

2.  Open up the tube you wish to use.  Edit > Copy.

3.  Click back on the blank image.  Edit > Paste as new layer

4.  Effects > Image Effects > Seamless Tiling.  Apply:  Corner, Bidirectional, 0, 0, 100, Linear

5.  In the Layer Palette, click on the bottom layer.  Flood-fill the bottom layer with a pale color from your tube or white.

6.  Right-click on the layer and choose Merge > Merge Visible

7.  Adjust > Blur > Radial Blur  Apply:  Zoom, strength = 50, horizontal = 11, vertical = 13, protect center = 0

8.  Effects > Texture Effects > Tiles.  Apply:  Hexagon, 45, 24, 1, 100, 1, 0, 50, white, 315, 50, 30

9.  Image > Add Borders.  Apply:  pale color, Symmetric, size = 1

10.  Image > Add Borders.  Apply:  medium/dark color, UNCHECK symmetric, Top & Bottom = 30, Left & Right = 0

11.  With the magic wand select the top pink border.  Hold the SHIFT key down and select the bottom border, TOO.

12.  Effects > Texture Effects > Blinds  Apply:  Width = 4, Opacity = 25, color = black, CHECK Horizontal & Light from Left/top

13.  Image > Add Borders.  color = medium-dark color, UNCHECK symmetric, Top & Bottom = 0, Left & Right = 50

14.  With the magic wand, hold the SHIFT key down and select both the left and right borders.

15.  Adjust > Blur > Radial Blur.  Apply:  Zoom , Strength = 75, 11, 13, 0

Selections > Deselect

16.  Effects > Plugins > Simple > Pizza Slice Mirror  (automatically applies)

17.  Image > Add Borders  Apply:  Dark color, Symmetric , Size = 2

18.  Open up your tube again.  Edit > Copy.  Click back on your tag.  Edit > Paste as a New Layer.  With the mover tool move the tube into position over the center.  Resize the tube if necessary.

19.  Layers > Merge > Merge Visible.

20  Save this as a JPEG.  File > Export > Jpeg Optimizer.
