Sparkly Tag
I own the intellectual copyright for the written tutorial. What you make is yours, but please do not take my tutorial. Share only my link. This tutorial is intended for beginners to learn how to make sparkles on a tag. If you have any questions, please feel free to Email me. To do this tutorial you will also need Paint Shop Pro. I wrote this with Paint Shop Pro X2, but the steps may also be done in any version. You may download a free trial at Corel. Remember to save as a psp file often! Download and install the Xenofex 2.0 Plugins You may use this tag:
1. Right-click on the tag layer and choose Duplicate.
2. Duplicate once more so that you have 3 layers. 3. We're going to make the gold box around the center animate and glitter. Choose the rectangle shape tool
4. Set to rectangle, Check Create on Vector, set width = 3
5. Set materials palette: foreground = white (or color of your choice), and background = NULL
6. Draw a box OVER the gold trim.
7. With the magic wand, select the white box.
8. Click on the bottom layer in the Layer Palette
9. Adjust > Noise > Add /Subtract Noise > Add Noise Gaussian, Monochrome, 30%
10. In the layer palette, click on the next layer up 11. Adjust > Noise > Add /Subtract Noise > Add Noise Gaussian, Monochrome, 40%
12. In the layer palette, click on the next layer up 13. Adjust > Noise > Add /Subtract Noise > Add Noise Gaussian, Monochrome, 50%
16. Right-click on the box vector layer and choose Delete
17. Now we will add some text that glitters. Choose a background color (other than black or white -- they don't glitter very well). 18. Choose your text tool. Set the font, and the size. Create as Selection
19. Right-click on the floating selection and choose Promote Selection to Layer
20. Right-click on this layer and choose Duplicate. Duplicate once more. You should have 3 layers of text and 3 layers of tag. 21. Drag the extra text layers so that your layers alternate: text, tag, text, tag, text, tag (going down)
22. If you have lost the selection around the text: Selection > Select All. Selection > Float Selection > Defloat. Click on the top text layer and apply the Noise: Adjust > Noise > Add /Subtract Noise > Add Noise Gaussian, Monochrome, 30% 23. Click on the second text layer, and apply the Noise: Adjust > Noise > Add /Subtract Noise > Add Noise Gaussian, Monochrome, 40% 24. Click on the third text layer, and apply the Noise: Adjust > Noise > Add /Subtract Noise > Add Noise Gaussian, Monochrome, 50%
25. Right-click on EACH text layer and choose Merge > Merge DOWN. You should still have 3 layers! 26. Choose the Pen tool. Set the width to 3 pixels, and connect point to point. Create on Vector. Set foreground = white (or color of your choice) and background = NULL. 27. Draw a line on your graphic along one of the seams. I actually drew 2 -- one horizontal, one vertical. 28. With the magic wand, select the line. If you have more than one, hold the SHIFT key down to select both of them. 29. Now click on the first tag layer in the Layer Palette. 30. Effects > Plugins > Alien Skin > Xenofex 2 Apply these settings: Star Size = 3.27, Size Variation = 29, Edge Star Density = 68, Overall Star Density = 46, Overdrive = 50, Twinkle Amount = 73, Twinkle rotation = 45, Keep original image, Random Seed = 1330
31. Click on the next tag layer. Effects > Plugins > Alien Skin > Xenofex 2 Keep the same settings, except click on the Random Seed button to change its setting
32. Click on the next tag layer. Effects > Plugins > Alien Skin > Xenofex 2 Keep the same settings, except click on the Random Seed button to change its setting
33. Right-click on the line vector layer and choose DELETE 34. Now save this to use in Animation Shop: File > Save As, Save as type = pspimage.
35. Open up the file in Animation Shop 36. Edit > Select All
37. Right-click on one of the frames and choose Frame Properties. Set Display Time = 15
38. Now save as a GIF. File > Save As
