Sparking Fireworks

I own the intellectual copyright for the written tutorial.  What you make is yours, but please do not take my tutorial.  Share only my link.

This tutorial is intended for beginners to learn how to create animated fireworks on an image.  If you have any questions, please feel free to Email  me.

To do this tutorial you will also need Paint Shop Pro.  I wrote this with  Paint Shop Pro XI, but the steps may also be done in any version.  You may download a free trial at Corel.

Remember to save as a psp file often!

Download Ulead GIF-X Plugin

1.  You may use a photo or tube to do this-- but the image must be finished before you take it into GIF-X.  Open the photo or tube of your choice.  SHIFT+D to duplicate.  Close the original.

2.  Image > Resize.  Resize so that the biggest dimension is NO BIGGER than 275- 300 pixels (so I made my height = 275 pixels).  If you go larger, your file could be too large in size to send through email!

3.  Effects > Plugins > Ulead Effects > GIF-X 2.0

4.  Click on the LIGHT button at the top.

5.  Choose the fireworks effects from the icons below your preview.

6.  Basic Tab:  In the middle where you see Key frame control, set it to 1 / 10 Frames.  Then go up and apply these settings:  0, 36, 82, - 55, 0, 0, 80.  At bottom set Ambient light = 90.

THEN click on the Advanced Tab:  Be sure that it says 1 / 10 Frames.  Then apply these settings:  64, 30, 33, 4, 30, 100.  Ambient light = 100 (bottom)

7.  Click back on the BASIC TAB:  change the frames to  2 / 10.  Do not make any changes in the settings, but your numbers should look like this.

8.  CHANGE the frames settings to 10 / 10.

Change only the Completeness to 90.

9.  At the bottom click on ADD -- so that you can save these preset settings for another time.

10.  Now we are going to save our graphic.  Ulead GIF-X automatically saves the animation as a GIF, so you will not need to go back to PSP.    In ULEAD, click on SAVE.  Give it a name, and save it in the folder of your choice.  Click Save.

(If you decide after this that you want to add some text or something else, you will have to open this saved file into Animation Shop to edit it.)
