Zany Coal Background

To do this tutorial you will also need Paint Shop Pro.  I wrote this with  Paint Shop Pro XI, but the steps may also be done in any version.  You may download a free trial at Corel.

Remember to save as a psp file often!

Download  Eye Candy 5:  Nature

This tutorial is written at the request of my friend Moomaw/Cathy.  These are her settings.

1.  Open new, transparent image, size = 150 x 150 pixels.

2.  Flood-fill it with black

3.  Effects > Plugins > Eye Candy 5 Nature > Ripples

If you have the preset, click on Zany Coal

If you don't have the preset, use these settings:

Click on the basic tab.  Ripple Generator=Raindrops, Number of raindrops = 1, ripple wavelength = 45.29, time = 43.73, random wave amplitude = 91, random wave wavelength = 0.10, refraction = 38, CHECK draw outside selection, Random seed = 6376.

Click on the Lighting tab.  Direction= 60, Inclination = 60, highlight brightness = 50, highlight size = 30, highlight color = white (#ffffff), Reflection map = select from Beach.png, Reflection Strength = 50.

4.  Effects > Image Effects > Seamless Tiling.  Corner, Bidirectional, Horizontal & Vertical = 0, Transition = 100, Linear.

5.  Now save as a JPEG.  File > Export > JPEG Optimizer.
